Description
In a condensate cleanup system for a nuclear power plant, cation resin tower filters and anion resin towers of a condensate desalter are connected in series successively. Silica ions at a low concentration present in condensates are made colloidal or insoluble state by the cation resin tower to increase the grain size. After removing silica by a filtering device, the condensates are passed through an anion resin tower. When silica break occurs in the anion resin tower, sodium hydroxide is circulated through the anion resin tower under a controlled concentration to liberate only silica having weak ion selectivity from the ion exchange resin to conduct partial regeneration, thereby capable of recover silica removing performance of the anion resin tower. The regeneration operation is extremely simplified by adopting a single floor system, and degradation of the ion exchange resin along with the regeneration operation is suppressed, and effects of lowering the concentration of the regenerated liquid wastes and suppressing the generation amount of regenerated liquid wastes can be provided due to the partial regeneration.
