Investigation of radiation induced defects in solid argon

Description
Solid argon was irradiated with X-rays at 10 K. A rapid increase of the lattice parameters was measured with increasing X-ray intensity. The obtained volume changes due to point defects were fairly large compared to radiation effects known from other materials
