Reaction of mercury telluride with cadmium

Description

Differential thermal, X-ray phase and microstructural analysis are used to study the nature of mercury telluride interaction with cadmium. It is found that HgTe chemically interacts with cadmium with the formation of CdTe and free mercury separation. The results obtained permit to perform probable triangulation of the ternary Hg-Cd-Te system
