The optical/IR counterpart to the newly-discovered X-ray source EXO 2030+375

Description
Near-infrared (JHK) photometry and 5000 - 7000 A optical spectrometry have been obtained of possible counterparts of the newly discovered X-ray source, EXO 2030 + 375. A study of the EXOSAT error circle has revealed two possible candidates. Using the combined optical-to-IR data the most probable counterpart has been identified from the shape of the spectrum, and from the Lsub(X)/Lsub(opt) ratio. The system bears certain similarities to V0332 + 53. (author)
