Choice of a model for Z Andromedae
Description
Data from recent visible-range spectrophotometric observations of Z And (Blair et al., 1983; Ipatov and Iudin, 1985) are combined with data from previous observations and analyzed. Alternative models of the cool component, nebula, and hot component are characterized in detail, and it is concluded that no choice is yet possible between models with accreting-white-dwarf and red-dwarf hot components. 35 references
