On the static calculation of hyperbolic cooling towers on account of earthquake loads

Description
A numerical calculation method is presented, whereby earthquake loads are assumed to be of a horizontal nature. Stress resultants and deformations are calculated for the membrane state. Approximative solutions for the determination of boundary disturbances on account of supports with high flexural strength are presented. (HP)

Es wird eine numerische Berechnungsmethode dargelegt, wobei die Erdbebenlasten als waagerecht angreifende Lasten angenommen werden. Berechnet werden Schnittkraefte und Verformungen beim Membranzustand. Naeherungsloesungen zur Bestimmung der Randstoerungen infolge biegefester Auflagerung werden angegeben. (HP)Additional details
