Shape coexistence and shape change phenomena in Dy and Pt isotopes from low to very high angular momentum

Description

This thesis deals with shape change and shape coexistence phenomena in the low-spin region (160Dy), at high-spin (180,181Pt) and at very high-spin (152Dy). The experimental results for the nuclei 160Dy, 180,181Pt and 152Dy, respectively, are presented. Sidebands in 160Dy obtained with α induced reactions are considered. Special attention is focussed on the interaction of collective bands with low spin members of the S-band, below the point of backbending in 160Dy. Multipolarity measurements of the quasicontinuum radiation in 152Dy are presented and the results on the superdeformed bands and band structures in 152Dy are discussed. 179 refs.; 55 figs.; 14 tabs
