Exporting more electricity to justify a lower rejection rate for nuclear plants?

In order to avoid constraints imposed by the French law on energy transition, the French government, EDF and the nuclear industry are thinking of a development of electricity exports. After having recalled these constraints and objectives related to the production of renewable electricity, the author notices the possible consequences of these constraints and rather moderate objectives: the nuclear electric power production and consumption will be too high with respect to the defined objectives. Therefore, the possibility of exportation is envisaged but these exports display limited perspectives because of the situation of the European electric power market
