Two simple tools for preparing iridium-192 wire for clinical use

This brief technical note describes a simple hairpin cutter for 192Ir wire, having the advantage that it is easy to cut the pins to different leg lengths. A wire loader and cutter based on the Amersham design is also described. (Amersham International Type N. 410), for loading 0.3 mm wire into nylon tubing. A new method for clamping the tube is presented and the cutting wheel has been improved mechanically. (U.K.)
