Solution of the multigroup neutron diffusion equations by the finite element method
Description
The finite element method is applied to multigroup neutron diffusion equations. General formulas are given for Lagrange type elements. A description is given of some 2D and 3D computer codes. Several investigations are described and the results presented. The capability of the 3D code is demonstrated on the 3D IAEA Benchmark problem. Suggestions are made for further work. (author)
