Description
I shall begin this talk by describing in simple terms the high-frequency collective modes of the nucleus. Next the systematics established for what is now established as the isoscalar E2 giant resonance (GQR) will be presented. I will conclude by describing briefly several special problems, such as E2 strength in the light nuclei, the effects of deformation on the GQR, and excitation of other multipoles. (orig./WL)

Der Vortrag beschreibt zunaechst in einfachen Worten die kollektiven Hochfrequenzmodes des Kerns. Im Anschluss daran wird die Systematik der isoskalaren E2 Riesenresonanz (GQR) behandelt. Abschliessend werden einige spezielle Probleme wie z.B. die E2-Staerke in den leichten Kernen, der Einfluss von Deformationen auf die GQR und die Anregung anderer Multipole kurz angesprochen.
