Description
Distortion effects in the (p,Δ++) reaction in nuclei are studied in the distorted-wave impulse approximation. The distorted waves for the continuum particles are described in the partial-wave expansion. Calculations are done for the total cross section and the differential cross sections with respect to the missing mass, four-momentum transfer, and the emission angle. The beam energy is varied from threshold to 3 GeV. For comparison the calculations are also done using the eikonal approximation for the distorted waves
