Radiolysis of aqueous solutions by high LET radiations

Description
This work concerns the radiolysis of various aqueous solutions (FeII; CeIV; CeIV — TlI) by low-energy protons (E ≤ 350 keV). It includes the determination of radical and molecular yields, and the results are compared to those obtained with other dense ionizing radiations (helium ions, alpha rays, etc.). The conclusion emphasizes the role of track structure, in particular, that of secondary electrons and the phenomenon of charge exchange.
Abstract (French)
Ce travail concerne la radiolyse de diverses solutions aqueuses (FeII; CeIV; CeIV — TlI) par des protons de faible énergie (E ≤ 350 keV). Il comprend la détermination des rendements radicalaires et moléculaires et les résultats sont comparés à ceux obtenus avec d'autres rayonnements à ionisation dense (hélions, rayons α, etc... ). La conclusion met l'accent sur le rôle de la structure des trajectoires, en particulier, celui des électrons secondaires et celui du phénomène d'échange de charges.Additional details
