Description
Production, identification, parametric studies and feedback control of a collisionless, curvature and rotationally driven, trapped particle instability have been carried out in the Columbia Linear Machine (CLM). CLM is a steady state machine with a quiescent, cylindrical plasma column confined by a solenoidal magnetic field with a mirror structure. It is particularly suited for the study of various trapped particle instabilities in both reactor type tokamaks and tandem mirrors. (author). 3 refs, 8 figs
