Description
Entropy is both an important and a subtle concept in physics. Beginning with its introduction into physics, we discuss entropy and the second law of thermodynamics, its definition in statistical mechanics, the contradictions between entropy increase and the fundamental theories of physics, the arrow of time, and Boltzmann's brain. We end the paper with a discussion on the famous black hole entropy. (author)
