Description
The aim of the study was to investigate whether the different status of plasmid DNA methylation has an effect on transient gene expression in tobacco protoplasts. Many recent studies have shown a negative correlation between the methylation level and gene expression. It is likely that DNA methylation level is one of the most important factors controlling gene expression during plant development. 6 refs, 1 fig
