Added value in stroke imaging: accuracy and utility of additional coronal diffusion-weighted imaging

Description
Highlights: • False-negative rates in acute stroke MR imaging are as high at 31%. • Adding coronal DWI with the same slice thickness improves diagnostic accuracy. • Coronal DWI is useful for subtle infarcts which are easily missed on axial alone. To evaluate the value of adding additional coronal diffusion-weighted imaging with the same section thickness as standard axial images to improve detection of small infarcts.
