Results of the 1st regular inspection of the reprocessing plant at the Tokai Works of Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation

The 1st regular inspection was carried out in the fuel reprocessing plant of the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation from August to November, 1981. Inspection was made on the reprocessing facility proper, product storage, radioactive waste storage, radiation control system, etc., and covered such items as the performance of emergency system, waste treatment capacity and radiation control. Improvement works were made for the plant, including recovered acid receptacle, waste treatment ventilation duct, etc. Special radiation works were set up according to the safety regulations for possible cases of particular radiation exposure (the result of exposure dose in this connection is given). Minor troubles occurred such as radiation exposure, radioactive contamination, etc. These are tabulated, giving also the cause and the measures taken. (J.P.N.)
