HEART THORAX. Luminal breast carcinoma: MRI model predicts survival

Only 5-10% of patients with luminal breast carcinomas achieve pathologically complete remission after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Approximately 1-third suffer recurrence despite adjuvant endocrine treatment. This retrospective study revealed predictive MRI characteristics that reliably predicted metastasis-free and overall survival.

Abstract (German)

Nur 5-10% der Patientinnen mit luminalen Mammakarzinomen kommen nach einer neoadjuvanten Chemotherapie in eine pathologisch komplette Remission. Etwa 1 Drittel erleiden trotz einer adjuvanten endokrinen Behandlung ein Rezidiv. Die retrospektive Studie ergab prädiktive MRT-Charakteristika, die das metastasenfreie und Gesamtüberleben zuverlässig voraussagten.
