Upper limits for the H352 α (150.139 MHz) recombination line in the directions of Cas A and W80

Description
Upper limits are reported for the intensity of the H 352 α line in the directions of Cas A and W80. They imply that the hydrogen ionization rate for H I clouds in front of Cas A may be as low as 3 x 10-17s-1, and that the widely distributed low-density gas responsible for pulsar dispersion must have a high temperature.
