Photometric determination of nx10-3 - nx10-1 per cent rare earths in steels and alloys from a reaction with arsenazo 3 in the range of pH 0.5-1.3

Description
It is shown that the determination of the nx10-3 - nx10-1% rare earths in steels and alloys can be made according to a reaction with arsenazo 3 at pH 0.5 - 1.3 without preliminary separation of rare earths. The complexon 3 was used to comouflage preventing elements such as Zr, Ti, Fe, Cr, Cu, Ni, V, Mo, Al. Methods of rapid control of rare earths are developed. In particular, it refers to cerium in cast iron, copper-nickel alloys of the ''monel'' type, nickel-molybdenum alloys, alloys of the VNL-1, VNL-3, VZhL-14 type and special alloys
