Electrochemical activity of solid solutions La(1-x)SrxCoO3 in the oxygen electroreduction reaction in carbonate melts

Description
Solid solutions La(1-x)SrxCoO3 were synthesized. By the X-ray phase analysis it was ascertained that a rhombohedrically distorted perovskite-like phase was formed. Kinetics and mechanism of oxygen electroreduction on the synthesized materials in Li2CO3-K2CO3 melts (62:38 mol.%) and Na2CO3-Co2CO3 ones (39:61 mol.%) were studied by the methods of coulostatics and chronoamperometry. It was ascertained that the value of exchange current increases with increase in the content of strontium in the sample. A new mechanism is suggested, in which oxygen ions transfer from solid phase into melt with the relevant changes in electronic subsystem of the electrode material is the limiting stage
Abstract (Russian)
Синтезированы твердые растворы La(1-x)SrxCoO3. Рентгеновским фазовым анализом установлено образование ромбоэдрически искаженной перовскитоподобной фазы. Методами кулоностатики и хроноамперометрии исследованы кинетика и механизм электровосстановления кислорода на синтезированных материалах в расплавах Li2CO3-K2CO3 (62:38 мол.%) и Na2CO3-Co2CO3 (39:61 мол.%). Установлено, что величина тока обмена возрастает с увеличением содержания стронция в образце. Предложен новый механизм восстановления кислорода, в котором лимитирующей стадией является переход ионов кислорода из твердой фазы в расплав с соответствующими изменениями в электронной подсистеме материала электродаAdditional details
