Nucleons with structure in the linear sigma model for nuclear matter

Description
A possible saturation mechanism for nuclear matter is studied. The quark structure of the nucleon, described with the MIT bag model in the context of the quark-meson coupling model, fixes the effective nucleon mass for a given scalar field. The model gives good description of the ground state properties of nuclear matter, with compressibility modulus K ≅ 300 MeV
