Application of alpha spectrometry to the analysis of the isotopic composition of fuel elements
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Atomnoj Ehnergii
Description
A semiconductor alpha spectrometer and a magnetic alpha spectrometer (with position-controlled compiler transmitter) were used to determine the percentage of plutonium isotopes in fuel element sample removed from a OP-5 assembly of the WWER type reactor of the first unit of the Novo Voronezh nuclear power station. The experiment showed that the combination of the two methods renders possible the analysis of the isotopic composition of plutonium in 235U fuel of power reactors with sufficient accuracy. (author)
