The article presents a comparative evaluation of data indicating the degree of stenosis, obtained by pre-surgery Doppler sonography and angiography. The results of the caliber measurements confirm the difference known from publications, amounting to up to 10%, between the ''distal'' and the ''local'' degree of stenosis. Angiography data tend to indicate an overestimated degree of stenosis in the medium range (between 60% and 80%), as compared to the surgical specimen. Upper-range degrees of stenosis are found to be underestimated in general by both measuring methods. The cw-Doppler sonography data do not show any significant deviation of degree of stenosis indicated from the angiographic, ''local'' degree of stenosis as compared to specimen data. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde ein Vergleich der praeoperativ durch Doppler-Sonographie und Angiographie ermittelten Stenosegrade durchgefuehrt. Die Ergebnisse der Kalibermessungen bestaetigen die in der Literatur bekannte Differenz von bis zu 10% zwischen 'distalem' und 'lokalem' Stenosegrad. Angiographisch liegt im mittleren Stenosebereich (zwischen 60% und 80%) eine Ueberschaetzung des eigentlichen, am Praeparat ermittelten, Stenosegrades vor. Die hoehergradigen Stenosen werden in der Regel mit beiden Messverfahren unterschaetzt. Fuer die cw-Doppler-Sonographie findet sich keine signifikante Abweichung der Stenosegrade von den angiographisch ermittelten 'lokalen' Stenosegraden und den am Praeparat ermittelten Werten.
