Reaction mechanism of transfer reactions

Creators

  • 1. Saha Inst. of Nuclear Physics, Calcutta (India)

Description

The mechanism of transfer reactions typically of the type (d,p), (d,n), (t,p) and (α,p) are described. This includes the processes involved in direct reactions, pick-up reactions, knock-out reactions and compound nucleus reactions. The effects on angular momentum and spin as a result of these reactions are discussed. Transfer reactions with heavy ions such as Li6, C12, N14, N15 and O16 are also discussed. (A.K.)
