Strata-bound uranium mineralization and stellite image model of its controlling factors in Langshan area, Inner Mongolia

Description

Granite type and sandstone type uranium mineralizations are extensively distributed in Langshan Area. Through comprehensive interpretion for remote sensing geology, the emphasis is put on research on metallogenic characteristics of sandstone type uranium mineralization and remote sensing image features for several uraniferous basins, and the author has found out that sandstone type uranium mineralization widely distributed in Early Cretaceous down-faulted basins is a typical strate-bound type uranium deposit. And based on research on regional structural pattern, block movement characteristics of arcuate structure and its control over the distribution of uraniferous basins and ore-bearing beds are emphasized. It reveals that there existed apparent reworking relationship between late stage activity of arcuate structure, ring structure, NNE trending linear structure and uranium mineralization. It can be concluded that sandstone type uranium mineralization was controlled by sedimentary facies and arcuate, ring and liner structures. Finally the image model of strata-bound uranium mineralization has been outlined which appears some image characteristics on MSS image
