The investigation of Zaporozhye NPP influence on the tritium distribution in the Kakhovka reservoir waters

Description
The studies were aimed at investigating the Zaporozhye NPP influence on the tritium distribution in the Kakhovka reservoir. The water samples were taken from two cross sections of the reservoir: the first one, located upstream and the second one located downstream. Tritium concentrations were determined by the liquid scintillation method with the use of Quantulus-1220 α-spectrometer. In order to solve the tasks posed, we have used math modelling methods with a ''black box'' ideology. We have determined the tritium pollution flow to the 85 km2 area studied as 300 GBq/day, the amount that corresponds to annual 110 TBq
