Safety of fission reactors

Creators

Description

To decide if reactors are safe enough to use for the generation of a significant part of our power, the dangers should be understood and a quantitative measure of the risks must be made. A general description of reactors of the light water type, a discussion of the Rasmussen Report, and a description of the Three Mile Island Accident are used to argue that reactors can be managed so that the power generated is worth the risk
