Thermo-stimulated exoemission (TSEE) from GdBa2Cu3O7-x in the normal state

Description
Measurements of electron beam excited TSEE from the high Tc superconductor GdBa2Cu3O7-x were performed in the temperature range from 80 to 350 K. To prove that the emission peaks originate from the sample, the sample was covered with a film of KCI. Exoemission peaks at 160 K AND 240 K most probably ascribed to the sample. They might be connected with the first-order phase transition discovered recently in this temperature region by another method. If the authors assume the existence of localized electrons at oxygen vacancies and a simple mechanism for their delocalization, they can calculate an activation energy
