Radiation induced chromosome aberrations after total body irradiation and bone marrow transplantation

Description
The 12 patients studied had been treated by means of bone marrow transplants and total body irradiation because of acute leukemia or aplastic anemia. The frequency of chromosomal aberration was investigated for the following two months. Chromosomal aberrations were found in 10 of the 12 patients but only in the peripheral lymphocytes. Explanations for this phenomenon are given. (MG)
