Buckling analysis of ring-stiffened cylindrical shells by compound strip method

  • 1. Engineering Mechanics Department, Tsinghua University, Beijing (China)

Description

The Compound Strip Method is applied to the buckling analysis of ring-stiffened cylindrical shells under hydrostatic pressure. The eccentricity of stiffeners is taken into account. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the high accuracy of this method. Comparisons are made between buckling loads of shells stiffened by traditional T-shaped stiffeners and the hat-shaped stiffeners. (author)
