Synthesis of β-Silicon nitride by SHS: fiber growth

Description

Optimal conditions to obtain β-Si3N4, through Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis, have been determined and the growth of β-Si3N4 fibers has been achieved by means of a seeding technique. The specific surface variations have been considered in order to study their growth, due to the difficulty to analyze changes in fiber length by electronic microscopy
