Development of high current, high voltage, long pulse duration ion beams

Creators

  • 1. EURATOM-UKAEA Association, Abingdon, Oxon (United Kingdom)

Description

The next generation of neutral injectors (e.g. for JET, 80 kV, 60A, 10 sec) requires continuing developments in each of the basis components for the ion source: (1) large area plasma sources with high proton fraction; (2) water cooled extraction electrode producing high perveance low divergence ion beams; (3) minimisation of powder loading on the extraction electrode. Recent advances in these areas are described
