Interchannel mixing of a coolant in a twisted pipe bundle

Description

Effect of the Reynolds number, pipe twisting pitch, pipe bundle porosity and length as well as that of the level of the inlet turbulence on the effective coefficient of diffusion in the interpipe space of a heat-exchanger with longitudinally stream-lined pipes of oval section using the method of diffusion from linear sources of heat and the flow model of a homogenized medium has been studied experimentally. To determine the effective coefficient of diffusion, a new criterion dependence is obtained which can be used when calculating the temperature fields taking into account interchannel mixing of a coolant in twisted pipe bundles
