Description
The work concerning isotope separation in plasmas is still in progress. Several schemes using this method are outlined, but none of them has been developed very far. At present one cannot be sure that the observed physical separation effects will lead to an economical large-scale application. The main task is still to further expand on the physical principle rather than to develop a practical process. The purpose of this review is to discuss the state of art, to summarize the principles of operation and to explain the theoretical background. (KBE)
