Catalysts in radiohalogen labelling

  • 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan). Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Description

The catalytic effects of insoluble phosphonates bound to polystyrene and silica gel on the iodine exchange between short and medium chain primary alkyl iodides and anhydrous carrier-free Na131I under biphasic conditions have been investigated. Polymeric diethyl and diisopropyl benzylphosphonate exhibited significant catalytic efficiencies. The use of the polar silica gel support resulted in a lower catalytic activity compared to the polystyrene resin. (author)
