Description

A method to arrange high speed ultrasonotomograms and RI pool images of the heart at the same period during a cardiac cycle in a row on a x-ray film of dynamic images for nuclear medicine was developed. Red blood cells in vivo labeled with sup(99m)Tc-pyrophosphate were used for RI cardiac pool images. Arterioventricular valve and chorda tendinea could not be visualized on RI images, and ultrasonotomograms was superior to RI images for the observation of local movement of myocardial wall. However RI images were excellent in evaluation of movement of the whole intraventricular cavity. Therefore, this method using ultrasound and RI could easily visualize the movement of arterioventricular value and ventricular septum and made it possible to visualize dyskinesy of myocardial wall in myocardial infarction and the thickness of the myocardium in idiopathic cardiomyopathy. This method also clearly visualized hypertropy of left ventricular myocardium and stenosis of outflow passage of the left ventricule in hypertropic cardiomyopathy. (Tsunoda, M.)
