Kinetic isotope effect in reactions of β-halogenopropiophenones with amines

Description
Kinetics of α, α-dideutero-β-halogenopropiophenone [C6H5COCD2CH2X (X=Cl, Br, I)] interaction with amine series in acetonitrile is investigated at 25 deg C. Data obtained on kinetic isotope effect, testify to the fact that under phenylvinylketone formation, splitting off proton from the substrate takes place at the rate-determining stage
