Absorption kinetics of copper (2) and cadmium ions on carboxylic sulfur-containing ion exchanger
Description
Sorption mechanism of Cu2+ and Cd2+ ions on corboxyl ionite KBS is studied using the retstricted volume method. Effect of sorbent graining, cross-linkage, investigated solution temperature and concentration on ion-exchange sorption rate is revealed. Internal diffusion and the process activation energy effective coefficients are calculated. It is ascertained, that sorption mechanism of Cu2+ and Cd2+ ions on ion-exchange KBS is a mixed-diffusional one, and depending on the absorbed ion type and degree of sorbent cross linkage, both external and internal diffusion can prevail in it. It is detected, that internal diffusion rate depends sufficiently on salt form structure, formed within the grain
