Contribution to the study of transfers during condensation of vapor bubbles
Description
An experimental apparatus that allows the study of the condensation of a single vapor bubble rising in a rapidly under-cooled (by pressurization) liquid has been developed. The main experimental difficulties come from the rapidity of phenomena requiring sophisticated instrumentation (high-speed camera, signal analyzer, fast pressure sensors) and perfect synchronization of the various sequences. The results obtained are then analyzed from a global point of view (variation of the equivalent radius of the sphere of the same volume) and from a local point of view (influence of the initial shape of the bubbles and study of the instabilities). Finally, comparisons are made with the various simple theories of spherical bubbles, leading to the influence of the rise and deformation of the bubbles. The study therefore contains three chapters: - Theoretical study of the general problem and the main models. - Experimental study including the description of the apparatus, the operative technique and the presentation of the results. -Discussion of the results; analysis of results and comparison with theories
