Kinetic regularities of radiation-induced graft polymerization of vinylidene chloride from the gaseous phase onto polypropylene fiber

Description

A study was made on kinetic regularities of radiation-induced graft polymerization of vinylidene chloride (VDC) from the gaseous phase onto polypropylene fiber. It was established that grafting rate up to high degrees of the last followed the rool of additivity and determined by independently proceeding reactions of graft VDC polymerization onto polypropylene substrate and onto grafted polyvinylidene chloride formed in the course of the process. The dependence of these rates on dose rate of X-radiation in 0.075-1.5 Gy/s range, temperature (30-60 deg C) and monomer concentration was determined. The obtained data enable to calculate kinetic curves for any assigned conditions of reaction procedure
