Environmental radioactivity and radiation exposure. Annual report 1980
Description
Since 1958, radioactivity data on the human environment obtained by measurements of authorized laboratories have been published in quarterly reports and since 1968 in annual reports. In addition to the results from environmental monitoring, these reports include data on population exposure due to natural and artificial sources. Information is given on radiation exposure from - natural radiation sources, - nuclear installations, - handling of radioactive substances, - occupational exposure, - radiation accidents and particular incidents, - medical application, - nuclear weapons tests. In summary it can be stated that the essential values of population exposure did not change from those of the year before. The contributions to radiation exposure from various radiation sources expressed as annual genetically significant dose (GSD) to population in the Federal Republic of Germany are compiled. (orig.)

Seit Herbst 1958 werden die von den amtlichen Messstellen gemessenen Werte der Radioaktivitaet in der menschlichen Umwelt in Form von Vierteljahresberichten, seit 1968 in Jahresberichten veroeffentlicht. Diese Berichte enthalten neben den Ergebnissen der Ueberwachung der Umweltradioaktivitaet Angaben ueber die Strahlenexposition der Bevoelkerung durch natuerliche und kuenstliche Quellen. Hierbei werden Aussagen getroffen ueber die Strahlenexposition durch - natuerliche Strahlenquellen, - kerntechnische Anlagen, - den Umgang mit radioaktiven Stoffen, - berufliche Taetigkeit, - Strahlenunfaelle und besondere Vorkommnisse, - medizinische Anwendung, - Kernwaffenversuche. Zusammenfassend kann festgestellt werden, dass die Strahlenexposition der Bevoelkerung im Vergleich zum Vorjahr sich in den wesentlichen Werten nicht geaendert hat. Die Beitraege aus den verschiedenen Strahlenquellen zur genetisch signifikanten Jahresdosis (GSD) der Bevoelkerung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland sind in der folgenden Tabelle zusammengestellt.
