Storage and transport container for one or more moulds vitrified in glass and filled with radioactive waste
Description
The storage and transport container consists of an inner sealed steel or cast iron container, which surrounds the mould, another steel container surrounding this and a concrete shielding container in the form of a pot in which the combination of steel containers is inserted. The inner steel container is embedded in the outer steel container by means of a cast filling consisting of a material of higher thermal conductivity, such as Cu or Sn. The concrete shielding container is sealed with a cast filling. The storage and transport container can be used for high activity waste. (DG)
Abstract (German)
Der Lager- und Transportbehaelter besteht aus einem inneren, dichten Stahl- oder Gussbehaelter, der die Kokille einschliesst, einem weiteren diesen umgebenden Stahlbehaelter sowie aus einem Betonabschirmbehaelter in Form eines Topfes, in den die Stahlbehaelterkombination eingesetzt wird. Der innere Stahlbehaelter ist mittels einer Gussfuellung aus Material hoher Waermeleitfaehigkeit wie Cu oder Sn im aeusseren Stahlbehaelter eingebettet. Der Betonabschirmbehaelter wird mit einer Gussfuellung verschlossen. Der Lager- und Transportbehaelter ist fuer hochradioaktive Abfaelle verwendbar. (DG)Files
