Spectroscopic studies of 163Hf, 164Hf, 165Hf, and 166Hf at high spin
Description
The neutron-deficient atomic nuclei 163Hf, 164Hf, 165Hf, and 166Hf were studied gamma-spectroscopically at high angular momentum. They were produced in compound-nucleus reactions with a neon beam on samarium targets at the heavy ion accelerator VICKSI in Berlin. In the hitherto unknown isotopes 163Hf and 165Hf nuclear states up to the spin I 30ℎ could be observed. In the level scheme for 163Hf three and for 165Hf eight rotational bands were established. Yrast levels up to the spin I = 34ℎ were found for the nuclei 164Hf and 166Hf. (orig./HSI)
Abstract (German)
Die neutronenarmen Atomkerne 163Hf, 164Hf, 165Hf und 166Hf wurden bei hohen Drehimpulsen gammaspektroskopisch untersucht. Sie wurden in Compoundkernreaktionen mit einem Neonstrahl auf Samarium-Targets am Schwerionenbeschleuniger VICKSI in Berlin erzeugt. In den bisher unbekannten Isotopen 163Hf und 165Hf konnten Kernzustaende bis zum Spin I ≅ 30ℎ beobachtet werden. Im Niveauschema fuer 163Hf wurden drei und fuer 165Hf acht Rotationsbanden etabliert. Yrast-Niveaus bis zum Spin I = 34ℎ wurden fuer die Kerne 164 Hf und 166Hf gefunden. (orig./HSI)
