Functional and morphological investigations of the thyroid with radio-iodine, radio-technetium and radio-gallium
Description
The radioisotopes 13J, 99sub(m)Tc and 67Ga were tested for their applicability in thyroid diagnostics. The storage values of radio-iodine are statistically evaluated with 197 enthyroidal patients having various thyroid sizes (0-III) in the endemic region of Munich. Of 71 patients which were comparatively investigated with 131I and 99sub(m)Tc, the scintigrams of 70 patients generally agreed.. With one patient (malignant growth) different enrichments of 131I and 99sub(m)Tc were found in the thyroid tumour. The thyroid storage of radio-iodine in enthyroidal patients greatly increased with thyroid size. (GSC/LH)

Die Radioisotope 131j, 99sub(m) Tc und 67Ga werden in Bezug auf ihre Verwendbarkeit in der Schilddruesendiagnostik ueberprueft. Die Speicherwerte von Radiojod werden bei 197 enthyreoten Patienten mit verschiedenen Schilddruesengroessen (0-III) im Endemiegebiet Muenchen statistisch ausgewertet. Von den 71 Patienten, die vergleichend mit 131J und 99sub(m)Tc untersucht werden, fand sich eine generelle Uebereinstimmung der Szintigramme bei 70 Patienten. Bei einem Patienten (Malignom) ergaben sich unterschiedliche Anreicherungen von 131J und 99sub(m)Tc im Schilddruesentumor. Bei den enthyreoten Patienten nahm die Schilddruesenspeicherung von Radiojod mit wachsender Schilddruesengroesse stark zu. (GSC)Additional details
