Effect of compression and tensile stress on accumulation and decay of radical in irradiated polymethylmethacrylate

Description
The shape of EPR spectrum and constants characterizing the quantity of stabilized free radicals were found to change during γ-irradiation of industrial polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and its copolymers both without and with stress (all-round compression and tensile stress). The peculiarities of radiation damage were attributed to the size of regions of local excitations arising due to energy release from cooperative recombination of radicals
