Linear polarization of astronomical masers and magnetic fields
Description
The ability of magnetic fields to cause high linear polarization in the radiation emitted by astronomical masers is examined. Because substantial linear polarization is a common feature of the circumstellar SiO masers and because their emitted power indicates masing under saturated conditions, the constraints provided by the SiO masers in late-type giants are emphasized
