π minus Photoproduction on neutrons via the inverse reaction or Cebaf at LAMPF
Description
The investigation of π minus photoproduction on neutrons is presented. The double experimental handicap of the lack of a free neutron target and a monochromatic photon beam was overcome in the π minus-proton channel by measuring the inverse process, or radiative exchange π minus + p → γ+n. The detector configuration is shown and the experimental results are discussed. The energy regions included the δ (1232), the P11 (1440) and the S11 (1535). Comparison between data concerning the radiative exchange cross sections is shown
