Description
A selfconsistent U/1)-gauge model in a gravitational field is investigated. The exact solution of the corresponding field equations is obtained. This solution is singularity-free at r = 0 and can be interpreted as a magnetic monopole. The stability of this monopole is guaranteed by its gravitational topological charge, which will be calculated explicitly. (orig.)
